July 30th is "National Cheesecake Day", ...AND... it is also the 30th anniversary of the the Cheesecake Factory . Why am I telling you this? Because they are haveing a great special on 7/30/08. You can get a delicious slice of any (or all) of the 30 varieties of cheesecake they make for only $1.50 per slice. (and HELLO...have you seen the size of those slicess?? Talk about a deal!) I LOVE there cheesecake!!

The Dark Knight!

I saw this Saturday morning, and all I can say is .. WOW!! This film has been talked to death, so I went into this thinking that there is no way this movie will live up to all the hype and was expecting to be disappointed. I'm so happy to report that I was wrong! I absolutely loved it for the entire 2.5 hours. Yes, it is very dark and sinister and evil. I would even say that no one under the age of 14 has any business seeing this film, for it is nothing like the comic books, TV shows, cartoons or even the 1990's batman movies. Heath Ledger is definitely a stand out. I don't know for sure if this performance is Oscar winning stuff, but he does make you want to learn more about the joker and you can’t wait for him to be on screen again. I wonder if there were any stand in actors for Heath’s part? If there were you don’t notice it. Plus he wears evil clown makeup throughout. Anyway this is absolutely the best film of the summer and it MUST be seen on the big screen, inside a cold and dark theater with a big tub of buttery popcorn! Thank you Sherron for draging me to see this :-)

T.V. Converter Box

T.V. is about to change FOREVER! (said with deep, loud echo sounds) That means most of us will have to buy a new T.V., or buy a converter box for our old T.V.'s. Blah! I want to buy a new super huge mega deluxe television, but I don't see that happening any time soon. So.... I guess I'm stuck with the converter option for now.

On a happy note, our government has issued discount coupons for people to buy digital converter boxes from electronic retailers. YEA! They also have a Web site to answer questions about the digital TV switch, recycling and buying energy-efficient TVs. Also yea!

Good luck my fellow T.V. lovers! And, in conclusion ... on this day ... May 1, 1916 ... legendary actor Glenn Ford was born in Sainte-Christine, Wuebec, Canada. He would grow to be 5' 11" tall, get married four times, become the "King of western cowboy movie roles", and despite his major popularity as a star, would never be nominated for an Oscar. Wow!

I love FREE on-line games. What’s not to love? They are free. They are on-line. And best of all ... they are games! Hooray for games! Right now, my most favorite to play is (of all things) UNO. That’s right, the card game UNO. You can play this game against “robots” or against other real/live players from all over the world. Just go to msn.com and click on “games”. Then login with your hotmail account. (hotmail is owned by msn and is also free) Once logged in, click on the “Free Online” tab and then select “Card & Board”. Here you can select from 29 free card or board games to play. I strongly suggest trying out UNO. It is a lot of fun, so easy to play and not so easy to win. If you play, let me know your thoughts.
